jang su jang in santa clara.

Nothing says family time like Korean food. We met up with family friends in Santa Clara – where there are a lot of Koreans apparently. Where there are Koreans there is usually good schools and good Korean food. Here’s a spicy buckwheat noodle salad.

And this was my favorite dish of the night – bossam. With all the pork belly craze, I’m surprised some hip small plates restaurant (ahem, State Bird Provisions) hasn’t knocked it off. The key is the pickled radish – the pink and white thin circular slices. This is probably some of the highest quality pork belly I’ve ever had… and I’ve had my fair share of pork belly.

And, of course, tried and true galbi is a must.

Here is the little bossam gem constructed to perfection, with picked fermented shrimp to boot!
